Gigabit Media Converter by TP-Link
Gigabit Media Converter by TP-Link
The TP-Link FC311B-20 is a gigabit media converter designed to provide seamless data transmission through a gigabit RJ-45 port and a gigabit fiber optic port with an SC connector. This device efficiently converts electrical signals to optical signals and vice versa, making it ideal for commercial use such as long-distance data transmission for park security monitoring or wireless networks.
Device Operation
Utilizing WDM technology, the TL-FC311B-20 can both send and receive data over a single fiber optic cable, thus halving the traditional cabling costs. It sends signals at a wavelength of 1310 nm and receives at 1550 nm. Correspondingly, the other device to which it is connected should send signals at 1550 nm and receive at 1310 nm. Compatible with this converter is another TP-Link product, the TL-FC311A-20.
Additional Features
The converter can function as a standalone device or be rack-mounted in a TP-Link cabinet to leverage automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover on the TX port, with connection speeds negotiated in duplex mode.
