The AXAGON external network adapter turns a USB‑C 3.2 Gen 1 port into a very fast wired 2.5GbE connection. It adds a missing RJ‑45, provides a second network interface, or replaces a faulty built‑in NIC. Thanks to the IEEE 802.3bz (NBASE‑T) standard, you can reach up to 2.5 Gb/s over standard Cat5e/Cat6 cables up to 100 m.
The high‑end Realtek RTL8156B chip brings features for higher performance and lower CPU load: Checksum Offload, TCP Large Send Offload v1/v2, Jumbo Frames, VLAN 802.1Q, 802.1P priority, Auto MDI/MDIX, and Energy Efficient Ethernet 802.3az. Wake‑on‑LAN is a given (incl. RealWoW! and ECMA‑393 proxZzzy) along with advanced power management. The aluminum body ensures durability and excellent cooling; two LEDs indicate link and activity.
Setup is easy: on Windows 8.1 and newer it installs automatically even without internet (CDC‑ECM). The adapter is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux, works with Thunderbolt 3/4, is bus‑powered from USB, and thanks to its compact size it’s ideal for travel.
