Thanks to its hardness, chewing provides mechanical tooth cleaning, which reduces the formation of plaque and tartar. The treat is easy to digest and made without unnecessary additives.
The treats are made using traditional processing of milk from free-grazing Himalayan cows: the milk is cooked to remove fat and pasteurize it, then a small amount of salt and lime juice (only 0.01% in total) is added to curdle it. This is followed by pressing for 2–3 days and long drying in a smokehouse for 20–30 days, which gives the stick its typical hardness and a mild smoky flavor.
