DGS-108GL Unmanaged Switch
Gigabit data transfer in a compact package
The five-port gigabit unmanaged switch DGS108 is intended for the SOHO segment and offers an affordable way to use gigabit Ethernet connectivity. The switch is equipped with 8 gigabit ports, allowing you to quickly expand your network and take advantage of gigabit speeds.
Online gaming, 4K video streaming, large file downloads — the advantages of wired Ethernet
Small network switches are ideal for advanced users who prefer wired connections over Wi‑Fi solutions. A switch works much like a simple power strip: you connect additional devices to it and plug it into a single outlet. A network switch operates in the same way.
Easy gigabit network deployment
Connecting to the network enables instant creation of a network with Internet access without any configuration.
Gigabit throughput provides the convenience of fast large‑file transfers and no lag in online gaming. Front Ethernet ports with two LED indicators next to each make it easy to quickly check port status. Meanwhile, QoS, which manages and prioritizes data traffic, makes it fast and delay‑free.
Cable diagnostics
D‑Link’s cable diagnostics feature provides users with real‑time information on cable status via the LED indicators located on the front of the chassis (top of the chassis).
Users can quickly determine whether cable connections are working properly. If connection issues occur, they are notified in real time.
IGMP Snooping
When IGMP Snooping (Internet Group Management Protocol) is enabled, the DGS‑108 listens to IGMP data between routers and hosts and stores a map of the exact associations between IP multicast streams, resulting in increased efficiency and performance.
It is possible to filter out any non‑multicast association, providing information about which ports multicast traffic is being sent to.
Energy efficient
The switch saves power and reduces heat generation, resulting in a longer device lifespan without loss of functionality or performance.
The switch supports the IEEE 802.3az Energy‑Efficient Ethernet (EEE) standard. It detects when computers are turned off and when no data is being transmitted on the network. The switch ports then automatically power down, reducing energy consumption. As an additional feature, it detects the length of connected cables, so the switch draws only as much power as needed for operation.
Compact and quiet
The switch is designed for durability and high performance.
Thanks to its robust metal housing, the switch is ready for heavy workloads, as it can dissipate heat and reduce stress on the internal circuitry.
