Gigabit data transfer in a compact package
The five-port DGS-105 unmanaged Gigabit switch is designed for the SOHO segment and offers an affordable way to use Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. The switch is equipped with 5 Gigabit ports that let you quickly expand your network and take advantage of Gigabit speeds.
Online gaming, 4K video streaming, large file downloads — the benefits of wired Ethernet
Small network switches are ideal for advanced users who prefer wired connections over Wi‑Fi. A switch works much like a simple power strip: you plug in more devices and connect the strip to a single outlet. That’s how a network switch works, too.
Plug-and-play enables instant network and internet access with no setup.
Gigabit-speed transfer means convenient fast transfers of large files and no lag in online gaming. Front-facing Ethernet ports with two LED indicators next to each make it easy to quickly check port status. Meanwhile, QoS manages and prioritizes data so it’s fast and delay-free.
D-Link’s Cable Diagnostics provides real-time information about cable status via the LED indicators on the front of the chassis.
Users can quickly determine whether cable connections are functioning properly. If connection issues arise, they are alerted in real time.
When IGMP Snooping (Internet Group Management Protocol) is enabled, the DGS‑105 listens to IGMP traffic between routers and hosts and maintains a map of exact links between IP multicast streams, improving efficiency and performance.
Non-multicast links can be filtered, providing information about which ports multicast traffic is sent to.
The switch saves energy and reduces heat, extending device lifespan without losing functionality or performance.
The switch supports the IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE) standard. It detects when computers are powered off and when no data is being transmitted, and the switch ports automatically power down to reduce energy consumption. It also detects the length of connected cables so the switch draws only the power necessary for operation.
The switch is built for durability and high performance.
With a rugged metal housing, the switch is ready for heavy loads thanks to its ability to dissipate heat and reduce stress on internal circuitry.
