Can you make fun of yourself? That’s exactly what Ale japa is built on – crazy faces that players swap using masks. Some expressions are cute, others are deliberately “messy,” reminding you with a wink that perfection isn’t everything. That creates situations where absolutely everyone laughs – players and onlookers alike.
How to play: Each player places a pawn in front of them, randomly takes a mask, memorizes what it looks like, and puts it on. The cards are shuffled and dealt among the players. Cards are then played to the table one by one – when your mask appears, you protect your token by grabbing it quickly; when an opponent’s mask appears, you try to snatch their pawn in a flash. The correctly identified player then takes a new random mask. The game ends when one of the players gets rid of all their cards.
